Last week, University West London (UWL) visited Ada Lovelace to deliver a workshop to Year 7 students.

One of the students wrote up notes from the session:

During the workshop, we were introduced to Wokwi, an electronic circuit simulator, as well as the different components of a circuit board, resistors, and LEDs. Afterwards, we created a simple Python program using Wokwi’s virtual resources, in which an LED was made to flash in regular, half-second intervals. Finally, we were shown a robotic arm, that could be controlled via a programmable circuit board, and saw a demonstration, wherein it picked up a sponge from a table.

Picture below shows code and virtual circuit board.

We would like to thank UWL for delivering such an engaging workshop. Thanks also to the Y8 and Y10 Robotics Club helpers who supported during the session.
