Ada Lovelace CofE High School is a new Church of England secondary free school, which opened in September 2018. It is part of the Twyford CofE Academies Trust.

After receiving feedback from a range of people with an interest in the new school, Trust Directors decided that the school should have an 'open' admissions policy (oversubscription criteria) as opposed to one based on faith criteria.

Ada Lovelace CofE High School is committed to straightforward, open, fair and transparent admissions arrangements. The school will act fully in accordance with the School Admissions Code (as revised December 2014), the School Admissions Appeals Code and admissions law as they apply to academies.

For entry into Year 7, Ada Lovelace CofE High School has an agreed admission number of 200 students.

These arrangements and the admissions criteria  are reviewed annually by the governing body and should not be regarded as binding in future years.

For entry into Year 7 in September 2022, the determined admissions arrangements (entrance criteria) can be found below.

All applicants will be admitted if 200 or fewer apply. Oversubscription criteria will be applied if more than 200 apply.

Applicants are removed from the waiting lists on 30th June each academic year. Those applicants wishing to remain on the waiting list must notify the school in writing via email to admissions@adalovelace.org.uk

Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on School Admission Appeals

During this current period we are following the Government and Department of Education’s advice to close the school site to the public until further notice to manage the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid19) outbreak. This means that we are unfortunately unable to hear your appeal in person. However, the Department for Education previously issued new regulations that will allow us to consider appeals by conducting hearings using remote technology, by telephone or on paper. You will need to indicate your preferred method in the proforma emailed to you.

Further advice from the Department of Education can be found: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/admissi... .
