Admissions

2022 Procedure

For entry into Year 7 in September 2022, the determined admissions arrangements (entrance criteria) can be found here.

All applicants will be admitted if 200 or fewer apply. Oversubscription criteria will be applied if more than 200 apply.

The admissions arrangements for entry into Year 7 in September 2022 includes 10% Specialist Language Scholarship Places. To view the Year 7 Specialist Language Place Information click here.

After receiving feedback from a range of people with an interest in the new school, Trust Directors decided that the school should have an 'open' admissions policy (oversubscription criteria) as opposed to one based on faith criteria.

Please click here to view our Prospectus for 2022 entry.

Applications for these Specialist Language Scholarship Places can be made using this form. Parent(s) must also fill in their home local authority's Common Application Form.

There will be a single Specialist Language Assessment Day for Specialist Language Scholarship Places at William Perkin Church of England High School and Ada Lovelace Church of England High School. This Assessment Day will be held at Ada Lovelace Church of England High School (for both Ada Lovelace and William Perkin applicants) on Tuesday 5th October 2021 from 4:00 PM. This is the ONLY assessment session held and late applications will NOT be accepted.

Arrangements for applications for the remaining places will be made solely in accordance with the Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements and should be made on the Home Local Authority Common Application Form.

The Academy Trust will use Ealing Council’s timetable for applications each year, which fits in with the timetable for the co-ordination of admission arrangements within London. The application deadline is 31st October 2021. Further information on applying for a High School place can be found on Ealing Council's website here.

Unsuccessful applicants have a statutory right to appeal for a place at the Academy. See details in Appeals section below. Appeals will be heard by a panel which is independent of the Academy and the Governors.

In-Year Admissions

2021/22 Academic Year

In-Year Admissions are for those wishing to apply for a place at the school during the academic year.

Applicant families are able to apply from the beginning of the Autumn Term and onward throughout each academic year. Parents and carers who submit application forms at the beginning of September will be notified at the end of the second week of the Autumn term. Should any places be available, offers will be made before the October half-term.

Please note that Ada Lovelace's in-year process operates outside of co-ordination (with Ealing Council). Applicant families who apply throughout the remainder of the academic year can expect to receive the outcome of their application within 20 school days to allow measured distances to be verified.

In the case of there being more applicants than places available, the same over-subscription criteria as published for admission to Year 7 will be applied to in-year applications.

From 1st September 2021, In-Year Admissions will be open for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 students only and will be subject to the Admissions Policy for September 2021 entry which can be found here.

In-Year Admissions are co-ordinated in-house by the school. Parents/carers wishing to make an in year application should complete the relevant in year online application form below:

General Admissions electronic application form here (Current Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and year 10 students only)

Specialist Music electronic application form here (Current Year 10 students only)

In year Specialist Music Places Information can be found here

Specialist Language electronic application form here (Current Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students only)

If a place cannot be offered at the time of application, you will placed on a waiting list. Applications will be ranked in accordance with the oversubscription criteria set out for the current academic year and not in the order in which the applications are received or placed on the waiting list.

If a place becomes available the oversubscription criteria for the current academic year are reapplied to all those on the waiting list and a subsequent reordering of the waiting list may take place.

Applicants are removed from the waiting lists on 30th June each academic year. Those applicants wishing to remain on the waiting list must notify the school in writing via email to [email protected]

Visiting the School

Ada Lovelace is unable to facilitate personal tours throughout the academic year.

Ada Lovelace hosts an Open Evening during each Autumn term for Year 6 into 7 pupils. This will provide insight into the school’s history, ethos and community in addition to our curriculum, pastoral and wider learning opportunities.

Open Evening dates are announced annually at the end of the summer term and all details will be published on our website.

Although bookings are not required, the Headteacher Talks are ticketed in order to arrange seating. Tickets are distributed upon arrival on a first-come-first-serve basis. In recent years, tickets have been heavily over-subscribed and we therefore advise arriving earlier in the evening even if you are planning to attend the latest talk.

Please note that there is no on-site parking at Ada Lovelace. We suggest using public transport in order to reduce congestion and to respect the rights of our local residents to access their properties. All evenings are expected to finish at 8:00PM.

Outside of this specified event, Ada Lovelace is closed to the public and is unable to host personal tours throughout the academic year.
