Dear Parents/Carers,
We are writing on behalf of the Ada Lovelace community to express our deep sadness at yesterday’s announcement of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. In this, we are reflecting the shared sense of national loss at the passing of a much-loved Sovereign and outstanding public servant, and we will celebrate this in our assemblies next week.
Today students had the chance to write reflections on commemorative cards and will be given the opportunity to engage with these next week in order to process their own response to her passing. Our dedicated prayer room will also be used to give space for students to offer private prayers or have silent reflection time.
We will, of course follow the national programme of commemoration as details are announced in the days to come and will hold King Charles III and the Queen consort in our prayers
With best wishes,
Dame Alice Hudson Keir Smith
