This blog captures our historical records of what happened during the school building project. We moved into the new building in September 2020 and Ada Lovelace CofE High School was officially opened by the Bishop of London. You can read more about the official opening here.

31st August 2020

With less than 2 weeks to go until the first students step through the door, the pace of work on the Ada Lovelace site has been astonishing.

The internal look of the building is stylish and we look forward to getting the final wall displays in place which capture the ethos of the school.

The school office team move in on Tuesday 1st September and furniture in the admin office and Reception area were installed today, complete with carpets which are very much on-brand.

Senior staff will move in next week also and their new quarters are looking good.

The IT and site teams have already been hard at work to ensure that the hand-over is as smooth as possible despite the inevitable delays and hurdles which the Covid-19 context has created.

Teaching staff will start their training and induction at Twyford from 1st September in order to give the office, welfare and site teams time to ensure all systems are go.

One of the stunning features of the school is its outside spaces which have been designed to complement the clear clean lines of the building. Already these are looking good and we look forward to the external grass play space being sufficiently well-established for use in the Spring.

Kier Construction are continuing to work hard on the Sports and Performance Centres which we have agreed are a lower priority to be handed over to the school. These are well underway however and we hope to have them in use by the last week in September.
