We are glad to be able to report that Kier Construction have been able to remain at work during the lockdown, in line with government guidance to the construction industry on appropriate Health & Safety measures.

The teams are making very good progress and some classrooms within the main teaching block are already decorated and are being fitted out.

Work has continued behind the scenes with our creative design company to ensure the unique identity of Ada Lovelace is reflected in its décor. The punch-card design of the external panelling has been picked up in the glass manifestations.

This will run through the building as will the school motto ‘Make the Leap’ which captures the creative innovation and application exemplified by Ada Lovelace herself.

We are now working on the individual icons of innovative thinking who we will celebrate in our displays. It is very satisfying to see the building coming together at last.

Inevitably the national lock down has caused some delay in supply-lines and with subcontractors however we are delighted that the construction team and DfE are working closely with us to try and ensure that we are able to open our doors in September as planned.
