We welcomed a special visitor to Ada Lovelace CofE High School earlier this month. The Right Rev’d Peter Broadbent, Bishop of Willesden started his day with Twyford CofE Academies Trust on the William Perkin site where he toured The Annexe – our new temporary block - with our head boy and girl and saw the extension to the café which will be our legacy to our hosts once the school moves next summer.

Afterwards representatives of each tutor group were introduced to the Bishop over a light lunch and were able to ask him questions such as “What does a Bishop do?”.

Another group of students representing 7A, 7D, 7L, 7O and 7V were then invited to join staff, members of the local governing body, Directors of the Trust and local community and Department for Education representatives together with building contractors Kier Construction for a service of blessing for the structure of the permanent school buildings on the Park View site,

The beam was inscribed with John 10:10 which is the foundation of the Trust ethic and signed by the Bishop, students and members of the project teams at Kier and Twyford CofE Academies Trust. It has since been hoisted into position on the upper level of the main teaching block.

The project is on programme for a summer 2020 finish which will be good news for those students who are currently on roll or joining us in September. It has also enabled us to confirm an increase in our PAN to 200 for 2020 entry onwards, which will give confidence to those applying to join us next year.
